Decorations Abound

So I have been thinking about cold weather and the availability of creating designs on the containers that I can pour my candles into, including tea lights and votive.

There are endless designs and creative ways to decorate and present candles, everything from rope to seashells can be added to tea light cups and votive glasses, jars and other containers.

Of Handmade Crafting

The possibilities are again endless but the presentation is unique in each instance. You can have so many decorative choices that sometimes you do go overboard or waste materials attempting to add designs you come up with on the spot. Learn to plan, see in your mind the design and its purpose in the scheme of the overall décor. More than likely you will then be focused not only on the best smelling candles you can create but also designer aesthetically pleasing candles in 1, 2  even a dozen pieces at a time. A dozen seashell themed Mason jar candles look beautiful and even more vibrant when say Caribbean Teakwood as a fragrance is added. A theme of palm trees, thatch huts, a drink with an umbrella, again the ideas are endless.

You find the best themes and present to your customers in advance so you can customize the best product for your customer (clients). You can make customized containers for everything from engagements and anniversaries to weddings and birthday parties. For myself, I currently only do small votive glasses, the kind you can get from the pop-up dollar stores in your neighborhood.

In getting back to decorations and designs I have found literally so many decorations and designs, I stumble over how many decoration ideas candle makers come up with based on much of the same research and curiosity I am willing to delve into. I mean, for every example, there is a town, city and country with a unique theme that you can use for your candles. Do you live in a small quaint town with a traditional past? Use that. Use the local or state flower, bird, a popular Route like Route 66, again, not to be redundant but the possibilities are…..all the way out there.

I even have a theme in my mind for space-themed votive candles with even small scenes such as glittering planets, shining stars, holographic solar systems, bright STARS (the SUN). There would be a busy theme filled with galaxies and the flame would be the middle of the SOLAR SYSTEM. See how easy it is to think of that theme, I am sure you can think of more than just clear votive glasses. Sure, absolutely if your clients want plain clear glasses please keep to the contract agreement but keep in mind you have ideas that if possible you can present to a client for feedback and yes, upsell.

3 of My Creations

I realize candles are a luxury item unless needed in an emergency capacity but the industry overall has been around for 5’000 plus years so it is not as explored and promoted as it should be. I am in love with candles, something my Aunt introduced me to 22 years ago. I will always see the possibilities every tea light, votive, taper, dipped and pillar candle that I create and others create as well.

Thank you for enjoying this post, please like and share and as always comments are welcome.

I write what I like or I wouldn't like what I write. I am as sincere in my words and actions, it may seem unusual but worth the time.
